
Born November 2, 1927, he started his career in comics in 1953 with Atlas Comics (Predecessor of Marvel Comics) where he worked on Doctor Strange and The Amazing Spider-Man but left in 1966 for unspecified reasons.
He continued to draw now for the rival DC Comics as he co-created the characters Question, the Creeper, Shade the Changing Man, and Hawk and Dove. His works were noted in many publications including his biography. He has been recognized as part of the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1990, and the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1994.
According to the authorities, the cause of death was a result of a myocardial infarction, brought on by arteriosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease or commonly known as Heart Attack .
As far as it is known, he never married and had no surviving children at the time of his death
