Boruto - Naruto The Movie Will Be Shown Exclusively in SM Cinema!

Just I predicted, no one can resist having the awaited Naruto movie here in the Philippines. Boruto - Naruto The Movie is the timeskip several years after the great ninja war against Kaguya and the Ten Tails. Naruto is now Hokage, Saske wanders the world, and the orginal sinobi gang is either married, with kids, and/or changed careers.

It was a good move for SM Cinemas to bring the "final" story of the Naruto series with this epic film. The movie will be shown exclusively on SM Cinemas on September 9!

Here is a short synopsis of Boruto, and I would also recommend check out special chapters of Naruto manga that complement the movie with the story of Sarada Uchiha.

Several years after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Naruto Uzumaki has become the Seventh Hokage of Konohagakure, which has grown into a large city with advanced technology, and the five ninja countries are at peace. However, Naruto is overwhelmed with the responsibilities of being Hokage and rarely spends time with his wife, Hinata and their children. His son, Boruto Uzumaki has recently become a Genin and has been teamed with Sarada Uchiha, the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura Uchiha, and Mitsuki under Konohamaru Sarutobi.

Are you also excited?

Building the Super Hero Suit of "Ant-Man"

Costume designer Sammy Sheldon Differ and head suit designer Ivo Coveney were tasked with designing and creating from scratch all of the practical suits that Paul Rudd would wear in Marvel's “Ant-Man.”

The first step in the process was deciding on the style and materials that would comprise the suit design. “Because the Ant-Man suit was supposed to have been made in the ’60s, Sammy and I were very keen on trying to make it have an older vintage feel,” explains Coveney. “I’ve deliberately left screws showing how some things are put together because we just felt that it needed to have a strong retro look, but still look cool and modern, which is quite a difficult thing to achieve.”

Sad Day For Modern Gaming - The Passing of Satoru Iwata

It has been a gloomy week for gaming as the one of the most beloved programmers and Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata died on July 11, 2015. He is fourth CEO of the game giant Nintendo which made games and gaming consoles like the NES, SNES, Gameboy and the Wii.

Iwata worked on some of the nintendo games like The Legend of Zelda, Mario, and the Animal Crossing series. He was also the first CEO of Nintendo who is not related to original owners, the Yamauchis.

He died because of a Bile duct tumor (Cholangiocarcinoma) at the age of 55. Following his death, Nintendo announced that Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto would take over on an interim basis until a replacement is found.

"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." Satoru Iwata in his keynote speech at GDC 2005

ToyCon 2015 Celebrates 14 Years With BATTLEFIELDS OF PLAY

Those of us who grew up in the pre-social media era or even the pre-electronic gaming age remember a time when “Play” was associated with the outdoors.  We fondly remember halcyon days of setting up toy soldiers in the hilly terrain of our own backyard or lining up our Star Wars action figures to go into battle with our He-Man toys in the wonderland of our childhood bedroom.

Those were the days, when our imagination knew no limits and the fantasy characters of comics, cartoons and movies were our genuine playmates; ready to defend and protect us, by the Power of Greyskull or by the all-encompassing Force, forging into battle with the evil hordes of Cobra, the Legion of Doom or armies of Decepticons.

We never knew it, but our childhood was fraught with glory in our Battlefields of Play.  And this is what we celebrate once again, as a clarion call sounds to dust off our toys and wage war once again with glee and joy in our hearts.

Meet Josie Rizal - Tekken's First Filipino Fighter

After clamors from fans and the rumored involvement of Jollibee to be the next in the roster of the Tekken series, Namco finally revealed the first Filipino fighting character. Her name is Josie Rizal, named after the national hero Jose Rizal, who uses the Filipino martial art Escrima (Kali) and Kickboxing as her fighting style.

Though she may not be the first of the Filipino-based characters, Talim from Soul Calibur, and Manny Pacquiao from Fight Night were introduced years prior to Josie. With a combination of Escrima and Kickboxing, it would be an interesting feat to see how can this par with the other existing characters of Tekken.

The interest of Bandai Namco for the Philippines started when they featured a city (which looks obviously as Manila) as one of the battle places for Tekken Tag 2. It was also noted by many netizens when Jolliibee trended to be a future character after Tekken's Game director and Chief Producer Katsuhiro Harada  tweeted about the famous bee.
