These creators designed and breathed life into the very characters that we read about and watch on the big screen. The very same characters who have inevitably become a huge part of our childhood, giving us hope and inspiration when we needed it the most. 

Netflix Drop Teaser Of The Highly Anticipated New Series, The Witcher

Fans in Hall H were treated to the first look at the highly anticipated new series The Witcher at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 on Friday, July 19, when star Henry Cavill previewed the teaser trailer for the room. Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Mom) moderated the panel discussion with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and cast members Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri).

From July 12 to 14, participating theaters nationwide will hold a re-release for fans to see Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame one last time on the big screen!

For every single receipt purchase of two (2) or more Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame re-release tickets, the customer will get one (1) exclusive Avengers: Endgame poster. Customers will also be treated to a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film. Redemption of the exclusive Avengers: Endgame poster can only be claimed in the same cinema where they purchased their re-release tickets.

Toy Story 4 artist Mara MacMahon gives life to the Filipino toy, trumpo

Two trumpos compete with each other in an exclusive sketch by Pixar Animation Studios’ resident modeler and rigger Mara MacMahon. 

Way before the era of technology and gadgets, Filipino kids enjoyed a childhood of having fun in the streets and playing with traditional local toys such as the trumpo (Philippine top). Taking everyone on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, Pixar Animation Studios’ Mara MacMahon illustrates the trumpo in her latest sketch dedicated to Filipino fans.

Netflix launched the official social handles for the highly anticipated new series The Witcher, along with first looks at the three lead characters; Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Cholatra), and Ciri (Freya Allan). Fans can follow official show news on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

Along with the first look imagery of the cast, fans were shown the first look at the series logo along with the teaser poster.

In Columbia Pictures’ new action adventure Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland fateful decision to embark on an exciting vacation with his friends from school is, initially, all about having fun and adventure in locations far from their homes in Queens.

Jake Gyllenhaal, a Mysterious New Super Hero in "Spider-Man: Far From Home"

Oscar-nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Velvet Buzzsaw) emerges as a new Super Hero, Quentin Beck / Mysterio, who is singularly equipped to deal with the enormous dangers posed by the Elemental Creatures, in Columbia Pictures’ Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Director Jon Watts says he wanted to bring the iconic character from the comics into the film in a way audiences weren’t expecting. “Mysterio is a fascinating villain in the comics, so depicting him here as a hero is definitely something we haven’t seen before. The idea of Spider-Man, Mysterio, and Nick Fury teaming up to take on this global menace was really exciting to us.”

Happy 90th Anniversary Kenkoy!

Back in the early Filipino komik era, there was a character that was loved because of his humor and charisma, he was Francisco Harabas also known as Kenkoy. Created by Romualdo Ramos and cartoonist and illustrator Tony Velasquez in 1929, the series features the comedic adventures of a pomade brushed up guy wearing over sized clothes and encounters a lot of slapstick moments that are hilarious and sometimes relevant even up to today.

Kenkoy became a mainstream hit as he appears in many publications. His popularity was also compared to other komik icons such as Darna, and Captain Barbell. He also has a beautiful wife named Rosing who looks more refined with her actions and fashion sense. Kenkoy also had influenced language because his lines were a mixture of Filipino, English,  and Spanish.
