100 Araw ng Komiks: Celebrating Pinoy Komiks
Though its the age of the internet where paper is slowly being rmoved in offices and houses which use to house information and the old favorite pastime for Pinoys which is komiks. Indie Komiks Manila (IKM) has made a 100 day event in facebook to promote komiks on the net to get attention from the public to post and share their favorite komiks and other articles related to Pinoy komiks. This is also in preparation for the coming Komikon this November. The 100 days stared this July 1, 2011 and will run until Komikon.

TOYCON 2011 Today and Tomorrow!
Here now at megamall to cover ToyCon 2011, though I am on a budget I would like to still experience this event as I have done in the last 3 years. More details and pictures to come after this so stay tuned as we also await the birth anniversary of Jose Rizal tomorrow because I will be at Rizal Park before going to the second day of toycon.

COSPLAY ALERT: SM Marikina Women of Cosplay
Before Independence day, lets Cosplay at SM Marikina with the women of Cosplay! With special guest, Alodia Gosienfiao and top women cosplayers, and also open to other cosplayers as a celebration of freedom like what cosplay really is. To bring out the cosplayer in you. SM Cyberzone looks at cosplay as the next big thing in the country as more and more people are into it. Though its not the first time SM Marikina has hosted a cosplay event, but they are excited to see new faces in the community as SM becomes the common venue for these conventions. So see you on June 11, 2011 for the whole day event!
TOYCON 2011 The Venue of a Cosplay Movie!?
Be one of the cosplayers present at the TOYCON this year and be part of movie project called COSPLAY NATION. As we all know that the cosplay community in the Philippines is expanding and also attracting a lot of audience. And with the burst of cosplayers and conventions, I think its time for us to make at least a documentary about this industry. And of course, this will be lead by the cosplay Goddess of the Philippines, Ms. Alodia Gosiengfiao! And also TOYCON goes bigger and bigger this year as it celebrates its 10th year. I have been attending TOYCON for years now and also saw that progress and support it got from the public, cosplayers and toy enthusiasts. Again this will be on June 18-19, 2011 at Megatrade Halls 1, 2, & 3!

Cosplay General Mechanics
1. Tattooed in Time is open to participants aged 13 years old and older.
2. There are three (3) categories in the cosplay competition
a. Best Male Character
b. Best Female Character
c. Best Robot
3. All participants must register at the cosplay registration booth onsite, at the Trinoma Activity Center, on June 4, Saturday.
4. Registration is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN only.
5. Each participant must bring a print-out of the picture of their chosen character.
6. Each participant will be given a number and grouped with his / her category.
7. Participants will undergo pre-screening where they will walk down the stage runway. Participants have the option to do “fan service” onstage.
8. Participants are also required to join in the Cosplay Parade and pose pictures for guests.
9. The top 5 cosplayers per category will move up to the Finals / Main Program at 6:00 PM.
10. Criteria for Judging:
a. Craftsmanship - 40%
b. Accuracy - 30%
c. Performance / Stage Presence - 20%
d. Audience Impact - 10%
11. There will only be 1 winner per category.
12. Winners will receive a 1-year postpaid Tattoo Superstick subscription worth P1299 / month and a special edition Swatch watch.

OTHER RULES
1. Any kind of EXTREME kind of fanservice (i.e. PDA, kissing, sexually suggestive poses, violence, etc.) that is deemed inappropriate for minors are strictly prohibited.
2. Costumes that are too revealing (i.e. exposed private parts) are strictly prohibited and are immediately disqualified. Scantly clad and/or sexy costumes are allowed but are not encouraged.
3. All kinds of costume props must be handled with the utmost care and must not be harmful to his/her fellow cosplayers, event staff, and event attendees. Any kind of sharp and/or bladed object is strictly prohibited regardless of their part in the costume. Any kind of pyrotechnic equipment as props are also strictly prohibited.
4. Tattooed in Time cosplay team, Tattooed in Time event organizers, and its staff will not be held responsible for any damage, injury, or loss from mishandling and/or negligence of a participant throughout the entirety of the event.
5. Tattooed in Time organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who ignores and/or violates any of the aforementioned rules.
6. Registration and participation to the event constitutes that the participant gives the right and/or the authority to the Tattooed in Time organizers/staff, its sponsors and authorized press media to take pictures and/or videos or registered participants and will be the sole property of the organizers/staff, its sponsors and authorized press media to be used for future publications and/or advertising promotions.
7. Tattooed in Time organizers and staff and their relatives up to the 2nd degree of affinity or consanguinity are immediately disqualified from participating in the cosplay event

FRAMED Beyond Comics
Fellow Comic Fans! Our favorite Komikeros will have their works on canvas and will be on exhibit on May 20, 2011. Most of the artist here I do personally know from Indie Komiks Manila. Happening at the Art Asia Gallery in SM Megamall and also have a special guest Tony De Zuniga (Jonah Hex) and Known Painter Toti Cerda. And if you love comics and painting this is an event you should not miss.

Naruto Cosplayers PH joins in prayer for Japan.
Cosplay is not exclusive to just entertainment and fun, for the members of the Naruto Cosplayers PH (NCPH), they have innovated ‘cause’-play as part of their advocacy to help others also. As the Crisis in Japan still lingers, a beacon of support is what they offer as cosplay and anime did originate from Japan. Here is a video about the groups’ message of support.

KOMIKON Is Just a Few Days Away!
Komikon 2011, a spin-off of the annual Philippine Komiks Convention!
For its third consecutive year, this local gathering of Filipino comics creators and
enthusiasts will be held on April 16, 2011 from 10am to 7pm at an all-new venue: the
Bayanihan Center along Pioneer St., Pasig City.
This year's theme is "Bayanihan: Komiks Moving Onwards" and the main highlights of the
event include:
- the opening of the nominations for the 3rd Komikon Awards for Komikon 2011;
- exhibit and guest spotlight on women cartoonists;
- release of the first Summer Komikon Tabloid;
- screening of Animahenasyon 2007 and Animahenasyon 2008 winning entries;
- book launches of new comics titles (28 titles from the Indie Komiks Tiange);
- various comics-themed competitions;
- plus: surprise guests, contests and activities.
All of these for only a Php 100 entrance fee. What's more, the first 200 ticket buyers (presold
at Comic Odyssey and during the event) will get a free Komikon Canvass Bag to
put all your comics and merchandise goodies. Hold on to your tickets for a chance to
win prizes at the Komikon Raffle throughout the day.
Exhibitors include Sacred Mountain Publishing, AKDA, Point Zero Comics, Digital Arts
Chef (DAC), Polyhedron Comics, Anonymouse, JonasDiego.com, CoRe Studios,
Kommix Veterans, CS Centrl, Electromagnetic Tentacle, Happy Lockjaw, Cadimus
Prime, Sputnik Fantastik, Alamat and Visprint Publishing. Notable artists aside from our
special women guests who will make an appearance include Tony de Zuniga, Pol
Medina Jr., Elbert Or, Budjette Tan, Manix Abrera, Gilbert Monsanto, Carlo Vergara and
Gerry Alanguilan.
The 3rd Summer Komikon is presented to you by Komikon, Inc. in partnership with
